2017 in a nutshell (actual)

2017 in a Nutshell is a short segment based off of The Lenny Leggo Show that was released New Year's Day 2017.

Synopsis[]

A majority of the short is archived footage of riots that have taken place in 2016 in the United States, as well as other footage such as tanks in action and buildings being imploded. About half way in, the footage becomes narrated by Lenny, who describes a massive change coming to the country, and the world.

Up to this point, it is being highly implied that 2017 is about to become a disastrous year (possibly the primary reason being the electing of Donald Trump), and becomes more implied than ever when Lenny tells the audience that his previous eight years of life were the "most magical" of them all. However, when the footage abruptly cuts to him, he reveals that this is because "it took an enormous amount of magic to survive eight years of an Obama presidency!". At this point, we cut to an upbeat greeting to 2017.

Characters[]

Production[]

The entire short was produced in one day, New Year's Day 2017.

Unlike the previous segments, this segment was not edited down to a 30 second running-time: Instead, it is 3 minutes and 9 seconds.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only Lenny Leggo production, episode or short, that only stars one character.

Easter Eggs[]

  • During the chaotic montage, the footage randomly cuts to a scene from the 2001 film "Spider-Man" for a few seconds.
  • At the very end of the short, when the copyrighted information is shown at the bottom of the screen, it reads "about f*cking time" in parenthesis after the copyright year.
